As the parameters of various flagship models are exposed, the emergence and popularization of some new technologies seem to have become the biggest highlights of mobile phone functions this year. Today, Fang Bo will take a look at those technologies that are eye-catching.
Last year, Qualcomm was eager to enter the 64-bit mobile phone processor, causing severe heat to use the Snapdragon 810, which uses the public version of the framework. This year, with its new ® Kryo™ CPU, not only has twice the performance and efficiency of the Snapdragon 810 CPU. It also brings some more eye-catching technology.
Technology 1, Sense ID fingerprint technology
Sense ID fingerprint technology is different from capacitive sensors. The 3D fingerprint image generated by ultrasonic scanning is not only more accurate and safer, but also not affected by stains. The bigger advantage is that it can pass through materials such as glass and metal. In other words, fingerprint recognition can be integrated into the screen, so there is no need to impose the back of the body or the home button.
Through this technology, perhaps the return of Meizu's small dots may be seen in the near future.
The practice of putting fingerprint recognition on the back can also be erased.
The first model of Qualcomm 820, Le Max Pro, does not place fingerprint recognition under the screen, but only improves recognition accuracy and security. However, models that integrate fingerprint recognition under the screen should appear soon.
Technology 2, Quick 3.0
The new generation of Qualcomm processors are equipped with a new generation of fast charging technology: Quick 3.0, which adopts the "for," (optimum voltage intelligent negotiation) INOV algorithm, which can achieve optimal power transmission at any time and maximize efficiency. With this technology, it takes about 35 minutes to charge a phone to 80%. It seems that this year's flagship charging will take more than two hours of call in five minutes.
Technology III, 680 DSP
DSP, or digital signal processor, is a hardware design between high-efficiency fixed-function hardware (such as video decoders) and highly elastic CPUs. It is programmable but can only perform a limited number of specific tasks, making it more efficient than CPU but more flexible than fixed-function hardware. So what is the significance of Qualcomm's launch of 680 this time? Power consumption functions such as taking photos and watching videos can now improve performance by 1-3 times, using only the original 1/18-1/4 of the power consumption.
Technology 4, X12 LTE modem
Although the downlink LTE-A Cat.12 and uplink Cat.13 are supported, the mainland China did not. However, it can support Cat.6, which is commonly known as the "4G+" network for operators. Of course, such a fast network speed is also amazing to consume traffic.
In addition to support for mobile networks, Wi-Fi connection speed is 2x or 3x faster than 802.11ac without MU-MIMO by supporting 802.11ad and 802.11ac 2×2 MU-MIMO.
summary
Although the above four points are all Qualcomm's technology, other manufacturers will also launch similar technologies and solutions this year. I believe that this year's mobile phones can bring us a better experience whether it is taking pictures, charging, battery life, or on the Internet.
Technology 5, pressure-sensitive screen
Although 3D Touch has been launched as early as possible, and later ZTE and Huawei also launched models of similar technologies, it has not been well used in the ecosystem. This year, Samsung S7 will be equipped with a newly developed pressure-sensitive screen touch technology, and the SONY Z6 may also be equipped with a pressure-sensitive screen. The hardware support of more models will bring a huge boost to the ecosystem, from resistive screens, capacitor screens to voltage-sensitive screens. When the software matures, the experience will be a leap in dimension.
Technology 6, 6GB RAM
The next generation of Samsung Note 5, that is, Note 6, will have up to 6GB of RAM + 128GB of ROM. Perhaps everyone will think that Android phones have long had overperformance problems and will also be equipped with 2GB of RAM, but it is still quite smooth. Fang Bo believes that Android software's hardware requirements are increasing day by day. The Snapdragon 800, which can run more than 30,000 points in your hand, is already stuck. The King of Ji, who used to open WeChat in seconds, now has to wait for a full minute. Have experienced countless flashing and experiences. Fang Bo believes that the requirements of software are no longer the same as before.
Compared with PC software, the Android client was only more than ten megabytes two years ago, but now it is a social software client that costs hundreds of megabytes after installation. It took half a month to use 500 MB of memory. So Fang Bo believes that 6GB of RAM is not all gimmicks. No matter how excessive performance is, it will eventually be squeezed out by future software.
We look forward to this year's flagship opportunity to give us a better experience, longer battery life, more amazing picture quality, faster network and cooler and more practical functions.
